Veto's entire family was killed in the clone wars. His older brother ,a Jedi Knight, saved them from the calamity that befell the rest of their family. They were both sensitive to the force but Veto was always drawn to the darkside. Not wanting to risk Veto's life, his brother abandoned him in Tyrena, sure that Veto was strong enough to survive, yet weak enough in the force to remain unnoticed.

Veto floated around as young mercenary, hoping to find the powerful droid general responsible for his family's death. The war ended before Veto could exact his revenge and the droid general was brought to justice by another.

Veto, frustrated by not being able to get his revenge, is constantly tempted by the Darkside. As he grew older, the Darkside called to him. Veto joined the empire and helped them to destroy other Jedi as a bounty hunter. He was finally able to break the hold the darkside had on him after encountering and fighting Astrus, an officer in the rebel army.

Astrus was a Teras Kasi artist, and recognized the Darkside in Veto. After nearly killing each other on the battlefield, they developed a deep respect for one another.

Astrus began to speak about the ideas behind the rebellion. He also spoke of the force, and pointed out all the inequalities and double standards in the empire. Astrus was able to undo the brainwashing from the Imperial propaganda. Veto was able to overcome the Darkside, and return to light

Veto now fights for the Rebellion. He heads up SancT along with Astrus to liberate the world from imperial tyranny. However, all is not well. After a disturbing dream about his brother and the darkside.

This dream spurs Veto to begin his search for his brother, who went into hiding to avoid the Jedi purge. Veto embarks on a quest to purge the darkness from his brother, even if it means a fight to the death.
