**UPDATED By Astrus: 6/14/05**

Hey guys wanted to let everyone know about the city and what’s in store for the future. The Second Pic is our original Layout.

The First is our Updated layout, 2 weeks after the starting of our city, this shows the near future.

-----------------------------------------

Posted Image

The Pink Buildings represent Buildings that will be placed in the near future. The Yellow Diameter is the full Diameter of our city @ METROPOLIS level. As you can see we have held up to our original plan fairly well even due to hills and such.
---------------------------------

The above is a layout of what the city will probably (but not definitely) look like. Factories will go behind the houses to the East of the City Hall. Large Homes will go behind the Guild Hall to the North. Just wanted everyone to get a updated look at what we are planning.

The main goal for the City is to:

1. Be a safe Haven/Home for our guild.
2. Stay cost efficient.
3. Provide residents w/ a means to reach their in game goals
4. Stay cost efficient.
5. Stay cost efficient.

Ya I know..."why so many 'stay cost efficient’s", you say. ...The avg weekly maintenance for most Cities that aren’t smart w/ what they offer their residents is 500000 credits.... A WEEK.

The last thing we want is to have taxes in our city dwindling away at our banks or put the burden of the City totally on the Mayor.

Now there is a way to come up w/ that kind of cash. What we would need to do is run 9k missions with a group of 8 members. Missions pay each person in the group the full amount of the mission payout. 8members x 9000credits(one mission) = 72000credits, so if a group of 8 members took 2 missions each and the group did all 16 of the missions on a mission run, that would amount to 1152000 credits, per mission run (144000 per member).

My mission is to acquire 52 weeks worth of maintenance for our city. Assuming that 500k a week would be regular maintenance for us, to acquire the 26million credits needed to achieve this goal we would need to only do about 26 mission runs, with the 8 ppl described above.

Not only would that give us enough to not have to worry about city maintenance...but it would also give us extra money to help pay for city items such and banks and gardens and what not but it would be AN AWESOME REASON for the guild to come together and hunt!!

...Another way to keep the City cost efficient is to only have the amenities that we truly need. I see so many cities w/ trainers that the residents never use. "Can someone train me in (insert combat profession here)?!?"....No one likes paying a NPC trainer to train them and as a mayor I don’t want to pay for a trainer that’s going to ask you to pay him/her doubly. If there is a strong guild desire to have certain trainers I will definitely add them though.

Just so you guys know what the Weekly costs are in a city here is some info for you. Besides the Planet Registration, Specialization, and City hall costs, which are determined on the rank/specialization of the city, the bolded costs are a PER PLACEMENT cost. So if we have 5 banks that would be a cost of 5x1500credits a week.

• City Hall -
Outpost - 35k
Village - 60k
Township - 85k
City - 110k
Metropolis - 135k
• Bank - 1.5k
• Cloning Center - 20k
• Garage - 20k
• Shuttleport - 75k
• Large Garden - 30k
• Medium Garden - 20k
• Small Garden - 10k
• Trainer - 1.5k (1k to place)
• Terminal - 1.5k (1k to place)
• Fountain - 1.5k (1k to place)
• Statue - 1.5k (1k to place)
• Streetlamp - 1.5k (1k to place)
• Specializations -
Clone Lab - 80k
Entertainment District - 80k
Improved Job Market - 80k
Manufacturing Center - 50k
Medical Center - 80k
Research Center - 125k
Sample Rich - 70k
Stronghold - 150k
• Registration - 5k

Most Mayors tend to try to do things themselves and they are barely able to scrounge up the maintenance needed to keep their city up per week. SancTuarY knows better than that. We will work together to help our city grow and, in a couple days, save up a YEAR's worth of city maintenance, and in the process have mass fun working together.

The key to cost efficiency is TEAMWORK! If we want more from our City, we are going to have to put for the effort! And this guild is the perfect guild to do that.

If you have any comments or questions post here or send myself, veto, shawkorr, sadasira or kiari a gmail. Or you can send me a forum PM.

Thanks for taking out the time to read this and help us out!

Looks good to me!!!

Having spent a few million of my own credits to get various fledgling cities going, I cannot stress enough the importance of fiscal responsability.

Please let's do be careful of parks, as it's been my experience that they get out of hand ever so quickly. We don't need to have 15 parks, really, to have a nice city.

I'm inclinded to agree that we don't place trainers. Perhaps we could do up a list of trainers in other cities on Talus (and other planets) and keep that posted on the website? I am willing to compose a list of that (if nobody else wants to). And maybe have a list of guildies who plan on keeping their templates and would be willing to be 'designated trainers' for a particular tree?

No need to make a list. There is a nice Trainer Finder thats a great tool to find Trainers in game that everyone can use.

This Link is also in our Informational Resources Area. As far as having designated trainers i think that asking in guildchat, and trying to find a PC trainer that way would suffice.

Hehe, go to the guildchat and say: "Hunting group on dantooine, come and join me!", then you go to dant and go hunting, cuz sanctians are good hunters, and many still need alot of hunting to become lvl 80 ;) I've done that many times myself and people show up, im proud of those sanctians that come only one minute after Ive asked in Guildchat! w00t! KEEP ON THE GOOD WORK GUYS!

Im still master bh / master ranger, so I need harvesting, I'll join you if im not busy with my job; SancT Recruiting Admin (something that means I might leave the hunt even tho I might just started hunting). Most of the times we, the admins, must leave the groups cuz we got ALOT to deal with as well as hunting ;) you know.. guildbusiness. It is not a job taken lightly B)

So next time you feel like hunting, go out there, and try to get people to join your new group! And this way you also show that you have the ability to take initiative to organize such a group ;)

thank you.
