My local Yankee grocery store had cans of blackeye peas and rice on super-cheap sale for $0.80! Normally it’s like $2-something for this. Apparently this stuff is not compatible with the typical California palate. Yay for Southern food though!!!

That line is taken from "My Favorite Things" from the Sound of Music and is one of the first songs I remember learning to sing in school as a kid. It isn' t a Christmas song per se but it always reminds me of this time of year. One thing that I really love having around at Christmas time are Nyåkers Gingersnap Tins. These just scream "cozy" to me and I love the beautiful designs on the containers. No other gingersnaps come close. I need to pick some up at lunch today if they still have them.
