  1. Hey guys! My name is Bence, I am 27 years old and I live in Hungary. I work as a System Administrator and I do software development on this side. Outside of the typical CV content, I always loved role playing games and Star Citizen seemed to be one of the best Space Sim out there. I have been playing SC on and off for about 2 years now, but I have been playing solo every time and it became a bit boring after a month or two. Now that I have came back, I suddenly got an e-mail that I have been invited to the org, which I am thankful for. Thank you again and I am glad to be here. See ya'll around. (Sorry if my English is broken, I've not been able to speak it for the past 4 years) 🙇

  2. Hello to all viewers of this thread! I'm Saveg (though my friends call me Savage ) My actual name, however, is Finn; a fellow guy seeking action within the ranks of the Wanderhome Sanctuary. I was lucky enough to be invited into this community and look forward to staying for as long as I stay an SC player and, with the end nowhere in sight, I hope to impact you all positively, generally making a difference throughout my stay as well as make some long-term friends along the way! Hope to see some of you in-game once I become a full member. and I look forward to working with you all! 😄

  3. This month marks the 20th Anniversary of Sanctuary of Wanderhome! I'm very proud to have started and helped lead this organization for so long. The experiences within this org have shaped me as a man. There are certain circumstantial situations that gaming can present to people that test their integrity, mental prowess, problem solving and the amount a variables a person can handle thinking about when solving said problem. I have seen people become far more mature and wise because something (a puzzle or objective) or someone (an enemy or otherwise) applied pressure and challenged them in a way their out of game lives would never have. Personally Sanctuary of Wanderhome has blessed me with the opportunity to test business theories, teach and mentor and learn from professionals from all over the world. It has helped me to make business decisions and take on ventures I would never have dreamed of in my out of game life. I would be a much poorer and much more daft if it wasn't for you guys and the experiences I've had here. I've tried to give back with the investment forum, though most of you tend to get in touch with me personally for financial and professional advice. Thanks to our members, who have always been bar raisers, efficiency minded, duty driven and full of integrity! You can't not have fun with people like this! 😄 Thank you and /deepbow to our leadership team who have been instrumental in keeping us here, strong and always competitive. Thank you our future leaders who will place themselves in defense of SoW and help build SancTuarY of Wanderhome even further, so that we can be one of the top tier orgs in any game we play! Id like to ask you guys to fill out a testimonial to let us know just how much SoW means to you. It will be placed on the front of our website for others to see as they visit our site. Here's to many more years playing together and encouraging one another in and out of game.

  4. Hello everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Forrest, also known as Monkman2006 in the 'verse. I'm a long time backer of the game and have recently gotten back into playing again. A little about myself, I work as a IT consultant for my families company, and also work as a reserve police officer for my local township. 5. Well my in-game name is MerlinTheArcane but to make it short, just call me Merlin. I recieved an invite from someone from this organisation about maybe two years ago. I didn't accept it then as Star Citizen for me was such a new game and I didn't really know whether I'd fit into an organisation. As then, I was already apart of a small group of players and my playstyle may not've aligned with what an organisation may have wanted at the time. I regretfully don't have the name of the user that had invited me to the organisation and upon accepting the invite, it no longer was visible. All I know is that this user's name started with a 'G', sorry if this is unhelpful. Only recently, a friend (who goes by Nexus) and I had gotten back into Star Citizen and I'm glad we did. As we've not had greater luck playing any other space faring game other than Space Engineers and when we played the game (Star Citizen) before, we had performance issues. Since then Star Citizen has had some pretty neat and cool updates, that had brought us back. For the time being, Nexus and I will be doing salvage missions until we get to a point where we can branch out to other jobs and pursue other goals/interests that we may have. We selected all of the possible branches of the org as we didn't want to just specialise in just one branch. I'd like to think of ourselves as freelancers or even just individuals that'll be able to mesh into any role given to us. Be it: Salvage crew, security detail or even mercs. If you have any questions for me, I'll be happy to answer them. But until then, I'll see you starside. 🫡 -Merlin

  6. I have started my journey with Wanderhome! So far ive been handling a couple bounties on top of light merc work to obtain weapons and supplies before joing the org. I am ready for orginized attack and defense as well maning turrents on ships. Im a decent pilot given ive beaten every ace combat (not a flex). Ive tagged along with salvaging a couple ships with someone i met thru the chat, quick cash but i prefer to defend and protect! I am more than ready to start meeting with fellow members and begin our relationships throughout wanderhome.

  7. Hello everyone. I am new to the verse and looking forward to being a part of an org that helps others out. I'm still learning the ropes, but ready to start learning. My son and girlfriend will be joining soon. We are all newbies. I am used to playing other types of games so this will be a new adventure for me. I appreciate the invitation.

  8. Awyep! I present to you... The Guitar Corner! A hybrid 20W amplifier, a 2x12 cab with two Vintage-30s, a bunch of pedals for distortion and a processor in the FX loop. Over time, I plan to build a soundproof chamber around this chunk of space, turn it into a proper(ish) studio.

  9. Good evening everyone. I'm new here! Working through the instructions of Joining and that means introducing myself! Not sure what to say... I've been playing Star Citizen for a grand and glorious 3 days or so, I know it's a work in progress (and there has been many bitter jokes on the subject) but I think it's amazing already for being in an open alpha. To me, it appears to deliver on a cross of promises from other space sims and combine the best of what things like Elite Dangerous, No Man's Sky, and parts of Eve promised, and I'm very hopeful for its continued success and development. I think being part of a well-established active community will very much lend to the experience and fun this game has to offer and I'm really looking forward to learning the ropes and doing amazing space stuff with you all!! I figure i'll start with resource acquisition while I learn dogfight and the nuances of ground combat then transition to that when my skill level is appropriate. While still enjoying the "care bear" stuff when im looking for a more chill expirience. Uh aside from that, I'm a Corporate Pilot in real life. I fly an airplane called the Global 6000. It is the competition to the infamous "G6" and just as "fly". I love gaming but I also have some real-life hobbies that take me away from the digital world at random. Mostly hiking, travel, and scuba. So yeah, that's me in a nutshell. Ask me anything! Look forward to seeing you in the 'verse.

Up for a salvage outing this Saturday? Join the crew of Unit 731! Depending on the crew assemble, we will do: Time-sensitive contracts*, and as such - some good money, includes looting *This means we will need to man the turrets at a certain point in the mission, so be prepared Normal contracts - Time-unconstrained, no risks involved (except 30k) Can we hoard a full hold? The limits and goals will depend on the crew we assemble, so leave RSVP if you think of going. If anything is inconvenient - post your preferred time or any feedback in the thread, so we can average it out. Current time planned - Saturday, 12:00pm PST. <- Will be modified if time needs to change Meetup location: Teasa Spaceport, Lorville Follow the event for updates and changes! See you on board!

  12. I thought this would be an excellent talking point for all of us. I can't wait for the day 1 launch so I always think about the first systems I want to travel and first things I want to do and I'm sure everyone here shares these thoughts. Also talking about the first things we want to do would be a good ice breaker and allow us to align our interests and plans for the launch. Maybe as the "launch state" of the game becomes more and more predictible with all the parts of the game completing development, we can start discussing our day 1, or "First 50" days launch strategy and cooperate with our members to do what they want to do while also contributing to sanctuary in some capacity. For instance if a member wants to mine, Sanctuary should be able to tell that member "okay how about you mine x mineral because it's in our plans to focus on mining activities on these x,y,z minerals in these x,y,z star sytems". So this way A) Our members would be doing what they want to do and B) They would be contributing to our commonwealth and interests at the same time. I heard there was going to factory ownership, some degree of industry game play but I don't know the extend of it. Of course this is not something we can do right now since we are not yet close enough to launch day and everything, all the values and metas are still unpredictible and hold the potential to get overhauled at the whim of Mr. Robert. 😄 So we can just start by expressing the first things we want to do and our own individual launch plans. So here I go : I have the most fun when... except mining and salvaging I have too much fun doing several different things. Dogfights are so much fun, with ship and fps combat is fun, but also just talking to random people, meeting new people in the verse and doing things with them, going on random adventures with new fun, crazy people I meet and inventing new stuff to do and inventing our own missions and creating our own adventures is just as fun as pvp for me. I just don't like minning and salvaging at all But I don't want to get into pvp at Day 1 because I predict that in open star systems pvp is going to be chaotic. I think it will be foolish to start blasting on day one. So I will focus on pve and mastering every single modifier, every aspect of the structure of the game. Even if I don't do all the jobs and mission, I want to know what every mission's advantages, disadvantages, profit margins. I want to learn every meta, learn every modifier, how to stack them, how to combine them, how to min max everything. That's what I was doing back when I was really into hoi4 grand strategy. In our discord communities we would come together 10-20 people who knew the game very well, we would divide into two teams and develop our war industries and wage wars all night. I always liked strategy but I discovered just how much I enjoy strategy games when I discovered paradox games. I discovered that I love combining all the modifiers and min maxing obsessively but like a healty enjoyable, in check kind of obsession . So that's how my first days gonna be, I will be "testing the waters" so to speak. I want to know everything about the ocean and where will I swim and what risks will I face before I jump in. I will be starting with basic simple PvE missions, first simple cargo missions and then simple fps missions, as I start making a little wealth, I will purchase an RSI Scorpius or something like that, a heavy fighter that can do relatively higher paying pve combat missions. I will either have an npc turret gunner or convince a friend to do it for free. With that heavy fighter I will accumulate more wealth to get a big cargo ship. I will star hauling big, calculated, lucrative cargo at maximum distance across safe systems and at that point I will no longer have any worries about finances and then maybe I will setup a small home in a nice planet. I want to get bigger and bigger ships like this and get higher and higher profits with big hauling and eventually get a hammerhead and donate it to Grand Sanctuary Armada. And that will conclude my "First Plan", only when I completely fullfill this first plan I will embark on a new journey and make a new roadmap, but until then this is my launch plan from Step 1 to Final Step. This is the way. What are your plans? Maybe someone elses plans can inspire me or I can learn new things, so I'm really curious what's everyones day 1 plans and wishes are so please tell me!

  13. Ex military AM single channel hard copy radio operation (always fun knowing you are dead man walking). It was old school back in the 1990s and was for orders that required hard copies. I will leave the reason to the imagination. But it was always fun in field training to have an army Corp of Nork scud missiles with chemical dropped on me to kill me personally. Then was at HHQ 7th Inf Div. G2 Training. Div. Commander was not going to have any army troops living the Hugh life with the air force weather section (which was my assignment). Then did Corp security for gm and then Chrysler. Later did trucking and logistic, until covid and medical issues decided that was no longer an option. Looking forward to getting back into mmo's. In fact star citizen videos were what made me make the leap. Althrough I am currently stuck in rsi launcher hell trying to get the game downloaded. It will not complete updating the game after the initial down load. Looking forward to getting into the game and learning it's ins and outs and PvE and helping to build up and strengthen the Org for launch day (whenever that is) ;-). P.S. I know I am dating myself but when did guilds become Orgs? Self depreciating smile. By the way, current domicile is Southfield, Michigan if anyone lived near me.

  18. Hello! I am Slaughteranne! I've been gaming since 1999 but I am a mom first and foremost and have never been hardcore at anything out of the need to stop whatever I'm doing to tend to other people's needs in real life. I am fond of pvp and hope I don't break any rules! I am in Canada, on the West Coast, yay island life! And that makes my timezone Pacific. I don't live in an igloo and sometimes we have cactii out here that have holiday lights on them, so ya. My personal life is pretty personal, though I am sometimes very forthcoming in chats. I'm an avid roleplayer and yeah I know, "roleplay? in SC? wtf?" - I probably won't do it but I'll wish I could. I sure love immersion! I'm looking forward to connecting with people in the org and getting my questions answered, like how do I not blow up my ship, how do I make it so I stop logging into a medical bay, and what the heck is up with yellow backpacks? They are cursed! My goals are to be an amazing shooter and aerial combat fighter. I hope to attend a training session soon and figure out how to do more than just one lap in a race, doh. Feel free to message me if there's a newbie thing I've forgotten to do as a new member. Thanks for having me! Cheers!

  19. You'll fit right in, welcome. As the Star Citizen and Squadron 42 is heavily w.i.p. For now to grasp the fundamentals we have space bujutsu as you might have seen, there are salvage events going on which I haven't been to as I'm absent from the game in general these days. Maybe this winter after 3.20 I want to be more active aswell. Other than that what I found most fun and informative has been watching lore videos about SC universe. Because not only it's fun, the lore is full of insights into the things you might want to do in the verse and how the verse works in general. Whether you want to mine, salvage, be a merc or milita pilot knowing how the SC galaxy turns, what makes those stars shine, what drives EUU, Banu, Xian, what lucrative enterprises are there and where and when and all of it's innworkings is a crucial benefit wherever you go within the verse. So watching channels like Astrohistorian and reading lore books is fun and rewarding.

  20. Almost ended up blowing up the rental in the tutorial when I got to the station. Between powering down the ship and opening the cargo door, the ship flipped onto its top. Luckily I did not get out of the ship when the landing ramp seemed wrong (although if I HAD lived threw falling on my head and the ship blowing it WOULD have been funny). The Ship righted itself when I sat back in the pilot's seat and powered up the ship and hit the spacebar to rise above the landing pad. I have to say that the tutorial sucks fun-wise.

  22. First things first, of course, I will bid farewell to my family. They'll be fine, my kids are mostly adults by now. Then - it begins. I will do as much small things as possible, collecting tons of supplies. Days, weeks, months - don't even care. And after that - leave in every possible direction, drifting through space, exploring, and collecting some random valuables, including scrap ships. I will be a space man, coming to civilization mostly to trade, restock and interact with you, wonderful people. And I will repeat the Starrail cheesy phrase before departing: "May this journey lead us starward". Straight into global/proximity chat.

  27. Hello everyone! This is the first and the only guild I joined. I joined (Joined May 1, 2018) here the first times I discovered Star Citizen, learned guilds exist and when I was aimlessly scanning different guilds this cought my eye. It had sanctuary in it's name which probably meant that it was a cosy friendly place which meant that there were emotionally mature people around here and also it had wander in it which suggests an adventurous spirit. So I was intrigued... I entered the website read those long images full of texts full of slogans and descriptins of how this guild is meant to be structured and I was convinced, so here I was and am now. I've been in here but the game wasn't here... However it's getting much better everyday and there is so much more in there now and soon I will be doing an excellent upgrade of hardwares and will be much more active in both the game and the guild. I just wanted to write all these as a way of thanking you for... existing and following the development of this game and overseeing the development of this guild with unwavering interest. Edit: I will also be streaming regularly

  32. Fascinating documentary about major developments that happened in EVE. I have never played EVE, probably never will as it is too dystopian and limited in it's scope but I've always been interested in it, always enjoyed watching eve journalists explain intricate events happening in EVE and relations between EVE organizations. Star Citizen is not too rosy either but in EVE you can't walk, you're plugged in to your ship, you can't drink, you can't explore planets, you can't enjoy a beautiful sunrise and you're just a ship doing ship stuff. But nonetheless EVE has a fascinating society, beyond a community I think, I don't want to call it just a community at this point. And has many lessons for the future of Star Citizen. It's long... When you're available pop some popcorn grab a drink and enjoy, you won't regret it.

  38. I'm thinking. One thing I noticed when I moved to California is that people are very rude drivers and they won't let you over if you need to change lanes. Gas is expensive. Truckers will box you in on the Grapevine. Watch the speed limit as there are some parts that go up to 70. Also, not sure where you are going to end up driving but anything near the border with Mexico always scares me because people just dart across the freeway like they are invincible.

  44. While I do not like PvP as a thing and would hope we can avoid it on day one. Which really depends on our alliances and how annoying trolls and Nats want to be. But to be honest in regards to PvE I DO hope we Go Big Or Go Home. We should know well before D1 if it is possible to take control of npc settlements of gangs, cartels and slavery let alone unclaimed systems. If that IS going to be possible, it could literally be Epic. Will not go farther into my thinking in the open section of the forum.
